Doug's Pugs
  • The Pug may very well be the oldest purpose bread dog in the world. It has liniage going back past 400 BC 
  • The Pug is Brachycephalic- meaning it has a broad short head forming a smushed wrinkly face.
  • The earliest ancestor to the pug is thought to be the Lo-sze
  • Pugs were introduced to Europe by the Dutch in th 15th century.

  • Josephine Bonapart had a Pug named Fortune and he smuggled messages out of her prison cell in his collar as he was the only visitor she was allowed. 
  • Marie Antionette, wife of Louis the XVI had a pug as a child.  
  • A group of Pugs is called a "Grumble"
  • Pugs are called Mops in Germany and Sweden
  • Pugs are found in 6 colors: Fawn, Black, Apricot, Chocolate, Blue Tip (also known as Silver tip) and White.
